Critical Illness Product overview Key features Find out more Product overview Key features Find out more There are a number of important features to the Group Critical Illness cover offered by Generali PanEurope: Premium Payment Group Critical Illness cover can be provided by a company for its employees and the premiums are paid by the employer. Benefit Design The benefit can be based on a multiple of salary but can also be based on a fixed amount, subject to maximum levels in the Policy Terms and Conditions. For an additional premium, a member’s spouse (under age 60) can also be covered under the policy for up to €20,000. Cover is automatically provided for eligible children (aged from 30 days to 18 years old) up to a maximum benefit. There are two levels of cover that employers can choose from – Core and Core Plus. Core cover provides cover for 7 major illnesses and Core Plus adds significantly to this list. Full details are available in the Policy Terms and Conditions. Pre-Existing Exclusions There are exclusions surrounding pre-existing illnesses or operations, prior to taking out the policy. It is important that all members are fully aware of these exclusions as set out in the policy Terms and Conditions. Survival Periods Members must survive for a specified period of time to be able to claim for certain critical illnesses. Full details are available in the Policy Terms and Conditions. Benefit Payment Benefit payment is usually made by Generali PanEurope to the employer as the policyholder who then pays the benefit to a member in the form of a lump sum. Underwriting Requirements Group Critical Illness plans typically include a free cover limit. This limit is the maximum level of benefit that Generali PanEurope will provide to an employee without the requirement for the provision of further medical evidence. Subject to meeting our actively at work requirements, any benefit above this limit will be subject to full underwriting before acceptance terms are issued.
